IHAA Competitions Overview
All of the IHAA's major championships run multi-event competitions.
At the majority the combined discipline of Horseback Archery Eventing is contested - this is the
combination of the three varied phases of the Tower, Raid and Hunt track events.
The only major IHAA competition to differ is the World Grand Prix where the Skirmish 90 track replaced
the Hunt track, still running in conjunction with the Tower and Raid events.
World Championships
The IHAA World Championships is an HBAE competition for individuals and teams taking place every other year.
The inaugural event took place in 2018 in Hungary.
The 2020 competition in France was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The competition will return in September 2023 and will be held in Mongolia.
Regional Championships
The IHAA European Championships is an HBAE competition for individuals and teams taking place every other year, in the year between World Championships. The EC was held in France in 2017 and Poland in 2019.
The next European Championships will take place in Spetember 2022 in France.
The hope is that other continents or regions may organise similar championships in the future.
European Grand Prix Series
The European Grand Prix Series
is a team competition which has run each year since 2014.
This event comprises of three stages during the spring, summer and autumn.
All competitors compete in the Tower, Raid and Hunt track events and all scores contribute
to the final tally.
World Grand Prix Series
The World Grand Prix Series
is a postal team competition which has run in 2020 and 2021.
This event comprises of three stages during the spring, summer and autumn.
All competitors compete in the Tower 90, Raid 233 and Skirmish 90 track events and all
scores contribute to the final tally.
